“SpecialTextile” – the First Exhibition of the Branch.

The International specialized exhibition “SpecialTextile” was held in Ukraine for the first time. Production of the technical textile is the one of the most actively growing branches of the textile industry in the world. The exhibition “Special Textile” is totally dedicated to special and technical fabrics, special and protective wear. The necessity of realization of the exhibition in this branch of industry was very strong in Ukraine and eventually the first exposition has been presented in Kiev in the International Exhibition Centre on October 1-3, 2008.

At the exposition were presented new high-technological materials and ready-made protective wear. The biggest companies from Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Turkey and China took part in the exhibition. 

The list of the products presented on the exhibition is following:

• Technical fabrics - water-resistant, refractory, light-reflective, membranous, silicone, air holding, abrasives, coated.
• Non-woven materials.
• Leather and leatherette.
• Yarn, threads, fibers .
• Ribbons, belts, cords, ropes.
• Accessories.
• Research, development.
• Special wear, uniform, protective wear, corporative wear.
• Means of individual protection.

According to the information given by the exponents of the exhibition “SpecialTextile”, their products are used in such fields, agrotextiles, building textiles, geotextiles, industrial textiles, medical textiles, auto textiles, environment protection textiles, packaging and covering textiles, protective textile, textile for awnings, furniture textile, sporting textile, textile for uniform and corporative wear production, textile for special wear and footwear production, textile for production of individual protective means.

In the framework of exhibition the contest on the best design of the protective wear, corporative wear and uniform was held. The design sketches of the students from 10 universities of Ukraine were represented at the contest. And the prize was gained by the student of Kharkov Design and Art Academy Olga Tretyak for the best working out of special wear collection.

Even the first exhibition shows great results. The exponents were satisfied by the level of the realization of the project and the number of business contacts. The visitors pointed out that the exhibition “SpecialTextile” is the new step in the development of the market, and they are looking forward to the next exhibition “SpecialTextile”, that will take place on March 11-14, 2009.
